Last month, we weighed in on the prospect of the state building its planned new police gun range in Griswold, on the eaves of Pachaug State Forest. That location was questionable and troublesome for a variety of reasons, we said, but we reserved a more forceful denunciation, deferring instead to the community and exhorting residents to make their opinions known.

GRISWOLD – Griswold’s selectmen are taking up the fight against a proposed state police firearms training facility in their town.
The Board of Selectmen unanimously moved Tuesday night to recommend the Board of Finance approve the appropriation of $100,000 for the purpose of acquiring legal and environmental professionals to assist the town in the evaluation and opposition of the project.
